The Jewelry of Ancient Egypt
The Jewelry
of Ancient Egypt
Ancient Egypt is known for many things, one of the most notable being the jewelry and adornments that the civilization produced. I will explore the symbolism that is shown throughout ancient pieces as well as examine the methods and materials used to produce these relics. Egyptian gods and goddesses, prominent animals, and meaning behind the stones and materials used within the jewelry will be explored and examined. All of this will also be compared to modern day techniques and I will review how, and if, we still see these techniques or symbolism still used in modern day jewelry.
